Common Mistakes Made by Beginners in Poker

1. Bluffing a Lot

This is a common mistake made by most of beginners. We should choose the right time for bluffing. Even people with common pros and the best players should bluff with miniscule game part. Bluffing must be used carefully. We should select our bluffs wisely but we should never do it again and again. There are some players who are experienced who will know when we bluff more often and use them against us.

Playing too many before flop:

We should not play too many hands before we get flop since it is the common mistake made by beginner and happens usually when the players are used to the game rules and they lose patience. They will play lot of hands which fold too late in tame. This is not the top strategy however. The poker is not fun when we are in hand. We cannot play at the starting hand if we wish to make more money.

According to the statistics overall, lot of experienced players do not fold before flop about fifteen to twenty percent of time. We should remember that against nine opponents, we could only have ten percent chance for having the best hand and we should not play too many and expect winning in every hand we play.

Playing above our Bankroll:

Many beginners never understand importance of managing bank rolls. They become greedier and they play at level which is higher than games which they should not be playing. It is always important that we should know that something could happen in poker session due to variance that is related with poker game. We should take risk for managing money. We should have proper bankroll for supporting our actions for stakes for which we are playing.

Poor Positional Play:

In poker, good positioning actually means that we should see what our opponents are doing first before its time to show our action. Based on the behavior and betting of our opponents, we shall make important decisions about what we are doing. The basic strategy and rule of thumb we should know about is that we should play more of starting hands from later position than playing the hands very aggressively.
